My favorite there was goat leg soup and the Hyderabad dum biriyani. I had an issue once, they served us with old soup, I could tell by the smell of it. I didn't care to complain then, but that's just once incident way back when they were in the old place at bharat bazar. I been there many times after that I never had any issue. The last time I went there was Sep 2011, I guess I went on a weekday or something, they didn't have the biriyani, so I had to try something else which wasn't that great. But I believe they have the best on weekends. And almost forgot, this is the only place in bay area I have ever had non-veg food tasted like in India. Everywhere else it tastes like rice mixed in gravy. I'm talking about the biriyani.

The real Biriyani - a k a Oru Soru. Biriyani prepared in southern part of India is different from Moghul Biriyani. Oru Soru, as it was known long ago before Biriyani came south, made with typical mix of spices, rice, meat together. Somehow it picked the name Biriyani. Having grown with exposure to this kind of Biriyani, I can say this is very unique. It will bring water from your eyes and nose.. yet would not upset your stomach. Or try lunch time meals -- typical Muniyandi style with unlimited rice served with mutton/chicken/fish curries (with no meat or fish), rasam, buttermilk... You do not have to order a side dish, but that would add more taste. Try goat brain fry - very soft texture - tasty. Or try Chicken Chettinad. Don't want rice? Try Kothu parotta. North Indian items and Indo-chinese items are good too. For the first timers, - try Biriyani (the original Muniyandi Vilas style). In case your friend needs Dum Biriyani, they have it too. Try anything Muniyandi Vilas authentic stuff - they are unique and good.

I recently tried Mutton biriyani here and it was just too good. Typical Tamil Nadu Muniyandi Vilas Biriyani... Try this... You will love it..

Food is good, but bad service. There were hardly 10 people at that place and they took like 30min to come to our table. And then we ordered some drinks and food. Drinks came like after food was delivered like after another 25min. They had actually completely forgotten about our drinks. I had to request them before they served us our drink. Which restaurant worth its salt forgets to serve drinks to their customer? The reason I ordered for some drink was the water was undrinkable. I don't know where they store the water or how they clean the glasses. It smelled like egg. I ordered biryani, The taste was good, but prepared in a bad way. The cilantro stems were all over the place pokeing out of the food and huge leaves of cilantro. looks like they did not even cut the cilantro. Then there were small pieces of bone in the biryani always had to be careful not to chew to hard else you might end up chewing hard bone piece that could hurt you. Overall bad experience.
